- Installation notes for RShow
- ----------------------------
-
- Some of the installation scripts provided here require Commodore's
- Installer utility. Since this utility is copyright by Commodore, it is not
- included in this distribution.
-
- If you are using Workbench 2.1 or later, you will find the Installer on
- your Workbench installation disk. Simply copy the program to your C:
- directory, or anywhere in your shell command path.
-
- If you for some reason do not own or have access to the Installer, I have
- also provided a script for use with the IconX utility. This small utility
- allows execution of shell scripts from Workbench, and is widely available
- (every Fred Fish library disk has it). If you don't have it handy, you can
- also simply execute the installation script with C:Execute from a shell or
- CLI window.
-
- If you prefer to install RShow manually, copy the preferences editor
- (RShowPrefs) to SYS:Prefs and the RShow program itself (RShow) to your
- favourite commodity storage place. If you want it run every time your
- system is started, simply drop it in SYS:Wbstartup.
-
- The RShow preferences editor requires guifront.library, so if you install
- RShow by hand don't forget to copy this library as well. It is located in
- the libs directory at the root level of this distribution.
-
- The GUIFront layout engine includes an external preferences editor which
- allows you to control the visual appearance of GUIFront applications. This
- preferences editor is also included in the RShow distribution, but isn't
- strictly necessary to install in order to use RShowPrefs.
-
- If you want RShow and its preferences editor to be localized, you must also
- copy the necessary catalog files to your LOCALE:Catalogs directory.
-
- (No catalog files for the GUIFront preferences editor are included. You
- may obtain these from the full GUIFront distribution archive as found on
- FTP sites and most popular BBS systems.)
-
- All standard languages are not presently supported by RShow, but full
- catalog source is included. If you would like to see your own language
- supported you might consider making a translation and sending it to me so I
- can include it in future distributions.
