  2. Installation notes for RShow
  3. ----------------------------

  5. Some of the installation scripts provided here require Commodore's
  6. Installer utility.  Since this utility is copyright by Commodore, it is not
  7. included in this distribution.
  8.  
  9. If you are using Workbench 2.1 or later, you will find the Installer on
  10. your Workbench installation disk. Simply copy the program to your C:
  11. directory, or anywhere in your shell command path.
  12.  
  13. If you for some reason do not own or have access to the Installer, I have
  14. also provided a script for use with the IconX utility. This small utility
  15. allows execution of shell scripts from Workbench, and is widely available
  16. (every Fred Fish library disk has it).  If you don't have it handy, you can
  17. also simply execute the installation script with C:Execute from a shell or
  18. CLI window.

  20. If you prefer to install RShow manually, copy the preferences editor
  21. (RShowPrefs) to SYS:Prefs and the RShow program itself (RShow) to your
  22. favourite commodity storage place.  If you want it run every time your
  23. system is started, simply drop it in SYS:Wbstartup.

  25. The RShow preferences editor requires guifront.library, so if you install
  26. RShow by hand don't forget to copy this library as well. It is located in
  27. the libs directory at the root level of this distribution.

  29. The GUIFront layout engine includes an external preferences editor which
  30. allows you to control the visual appearance of GUIFront applications. This
  31. preferences editor is also included in the RShow distribution, but isn't
  32. strictly necessary to install in order to use RShowPrefs.

  34. If you want RShow and its preferences editor to be localized, you must also
  35. copy the necessary catalog files to your LOCALE:Catalogs directory.

  37. (No catalog files for the GUIFront preferences editor are included.  You
  38. may obtain these from the full GUIFront distribution archive as found on
  39. FTP sites and most popular BBS systems.)

  41. All standard languages are not presently supported by RShow, but full
  42. catalog source is included.  If you would like to see your own language
  43. supported you might consider making a translation and sending it to me so I
  44. can include it in future distributions.
